If you have an iPhone or an iPod you will most likely have heard about jailbreaking. You have probably done some jailbreaking yourself. But the question is, can you jailbreak an iPad?

For the uninitiated, let's step back a moment and explain what jailbreaking is. Contrary to what you may think, jailbreaking means breaking in, not breaking out. Apple's gadgets work only on the Apple platforms, however, the platforms are quite restricted. Jailbreaking your Apple gadget allows you to access the operating system and install third party applications.

Apple continues to adjust its software to combat jailbreaking but there are always people that figure out ways to bypass the blocks. Though there are certainly copyright implications, it is estimated that at least 4 million iPhone users have 'jailbreaked' their phones. That's 4 million users customizing their phones with their own applications, and doing so without buying applications from Apple.

The iPad, uses the same operating system as the iPhone...So, will it be possible to jailbreak it? What are your thoughts?
